At the end of 2024, right at the very end of the season, I made a quick and late decision to change teams. And when you decide that late, your options become pretty limited. It was the same for me back then, and I’m truly grateful to Szilárd Buruczki – my development coach – for welcoming me back and helping me in everything during my 2025 season with BTS.
I knew the challenges that come with a move like this, and I don’t regret any part of it. I’d be lying if I said it was an easy year. It wasn’t. It was a tough season. I had some good results, but of course, I always wanted more. That’s how it goes in this sport. Still, I take away a lot of great memories, and it really was a good atmosphere inside the squad. I’ll always look back fondly on the time we spent together.
Thank you, Szilárd. Thank you, APPSolute Sport BTS SE.
Already in the summer, I knew I had to start planning my future for the 2026 season. I was aware of which teams in Hungary were going to run an U23 line-up next year. It’s not a long list, and later, with Epronex shutting down, it changed the whole picture.
It was clear something like this could happen, and by the time it actually did, I already knew where I would continue. But it also confirmed to me how important it is to think about the future early enough. Looking back at previous years and how riders moved after U19, and what happened to them later, I also had to think carefully about timing, not arriving too early, not arriving too late, for a job you need to grow into.
I was looking for a team that could bring together a complete U23/elite line-up, where we could really work as one, and that offered a good race calendar with strong events in Hungary and abroad. I reached out to clubs in Hungary and abroad. In the end, two Hungarian squads and one Austrian team offered me a spot for next year, which was an honour. All three gave me fair, honest conditions, and I’m grateful for that.
After weighing everything, including the fact that I’ll have my final exams and university entrance tests in spring, staying at home looked like the best direction. We shook hands already in autumn, and since then I haven’t talked about it. But today I signed the contract, so it’s official: next year I will race in the colours of the Green Riders Cycling Team.
We’ve known each other for years from the races, and we always got along well, even as rivals. Now we can ride for the same goals.
Thank you to Green Riders for trusting me. I’ll give my all to show I deserve it.
And it’s a special feeling to race again with Peti Koloszár. We rode together back in our BTS days, became great friends, and now we meet again in the same jersey. And of course, there are many other good people here, riders I’ve only waved to during races until now.
I’m really looking forward to the season, and I hope we’ll have a lot of great races together.
