There are two types of weather: suitable for cycling and perfect for cycling. At Péliföldszentkereszt, we were greeted by the latter for the IX Brigetio Road Race. In the U17 category, the course was 20.5 kilometers with 265 meters of elevation.
It all happened very quickly. We were pretty soaked the whole way, and although the asphalt was good, there were still places where we had to be cautious. The finish was on a nice climb. I was feeling strong, started my sprint early, and managed to build enough of a lead to confidently celebrate before the finish line.
I completed the 20.5 kilometers with 265 meters of elevation in 34 minutes and 38 seconds, averaging 35.9 km/h.
